Kidderminster were one of the first teams to benefit from players returning from service during the World War. In I950, under George Morris‘s Captainship, the Championship was again won, with the famous Arthur Wellard of Somerset and England as professional. By then in his late forties he managed the very rare feat of taking all 10 wickets in an innings against Stourbridge. Gerald Humphries, Phil Dexter, Trevor Larkham and Jim Sewter all made contributions in the early 50’s. Peter Heard and Peter Harris joined late in the decade and began another rebuild to the successful side of the 60’s.
However, fewer now watch the matches, unlike the days when the gate money was over £100.
